Time to blog one of my favorite shoots from 2018 – Michelle and Max’s Berkshires film engagement session!
Michelle grew up going to this beautiful lake camp in Canaan, New York with her family. She proposed the camp and nearby apple orchard as the location for her engagement session, and I jumped at the opportunity because I LOVE the Berkshires. As I drove out, the weather was so dreary and drizzly, but we were determined to have the shoot. Despite the constant drizzle and grey skies, this shoot was one of my absolute favorites!
We photographed on the dock where Michelle spent many summers of her youth swimming and boating. Her parents still live part-time in a house on the property. I love doing engagement sessions at locations that have special significance to the couple. Michelle now brings Max out to the camp and Max proposed on this very same dock. Cue the waterworks!
I am so grateful to wonderful couples like Michelle and Max, who make my job so enjoyable. Michelle bought me a tin of local tea to commemorate my Berkshires experience and send me home with a little taste of the place she loves. She also sent me the sweetest email after she got the photos, including this touching note: “You are truly the best. We appreciate you more than we could ever put into words.” It doesn’t get more rewarding than that! Thank you both!
Have a special place or childhood memories in the Berkshires? I would love to create an incredible Berkshires film engagement session experience for you! I jump at every opportunity to visit the Berkshires in Western Massachusetts and New York, so please don’t hesitate to contact me here. I can’t wait to talk more!
