It’s been almost a year since Maura and John’s Boston College wedding. I’m in the process of designing their wedding albums, and I wanted to share some of my favorite photos from their wedding day on the blog. I usually meet most of my couples before the wedding day, but I met Maura and John the day of their wedding. I couldn’t imagine two sweeter people who were incredibly gracious, kind and wonderful to spend the day with. Tammy Golson Events planned the day, and she knew our personalities would make a perfect match. Besides gorgeous venues and design, the weather was incredible made for some stunning bride & groom portraits.
Maura and John hosted their wedding ceremony at Trinity Chapel on Boston College’s Campus and their reception at a new venue, 2101 Commonwealth. The venue is connected to the McMullen Museum of Art on BC’s campus. There are beautiful well-lit rooms inside 2101 Commonwealth for a cocktail hour or small reception. The back terrace is large, and the indoor/outdoor cocktail hour made mingling with a large guest count easy. The back terrace leads into an open air tent with a gorgeous sunset over the green lawn.
One of my favorite moments of the reception was Maura’s mom’s welcome speech. The entire crowd cheered and chanted her name until she was in tears. Well, we were all in tears. Another favorite moment was during the cake cutting when John invited up a friend who made the cake to share in the tasting. The night ended with a wild dance floor, led by the talented band, Groove Authority.
